an unexpected pleasant visitor

We get lots of visitors in our garden at Poppy Cottage.
Feathered visitors mainly!
We have
blackbirds
robins
crows
magpies
big fat pigeons
blue tits
great tits
coal tits
wagtails
long tailed tits
even the occasional heron flies over the garden
we have
starlings
sparrows
the occasional wren
swallows
chaffinches
and now....
a regular visitor since the cold and snowy weather when I have been putting out extra birdseed...
a very pleasant
pheasant!

He comes in nearly every day
 Helps himself to food
 Ignores the cats
And then strolls off again when he's eaten his fill!
We've named him Fenton the Pheasant!
My photos unfortunately don't do him justice -  not wanting to scare him away I had to take them through the  kitchen window!
Definitely a pleasant pheasant!

  1. What a wonderful variety of birds you have to visit. We've been fascinated by a little flock of long tailed tits that have been coming to feed lately - such cute little birds x
